Ouni, the first organic and packaging-free shop in Luxembourg, has announced it will open a second store in Dudelange. For the new site, a fundraising initiative is in the works to help cover the initial costs. This is similar to how the first Ouni store on rue Glesener opened, which initially saw some 250 volunteers help launch the shop.

The news was announced on Ouni’s Facebook page following an assembly for members. A fundraising event will be precede the opening. The post also explains that Ouni has, in recent months, considered several different locations for a second shop before finally arriving at Dudelange.

A little while ago I visited OUNI (organic unpackaged natural ingredients), a shop and café in Luxembourg City. OUNI is the first grocery store of its kind in Luxembourg. It was created a year ago as a cooperative where the public (members) could buy shares in order to raise the capital that was needed to open the shop.

On Thursday, OUNI announced it had reached its capital goal of 180,000 euros and that it hopes to open the first packaging-free store in the Grand Duchy by autumn 2016.

More picture galleries After two years of planning a zero-waste and organic shopping concept, OUNI opened its doors in Luxembourg for the very first time on Monday. As we reported a few weeks ago, the first organic store without packaging was due to open its doors at the beginning of December and so the first clients entered the shop on Monday.
Exactly two years after the project first began, OUNI opens today its doors to the public as the first packaging-free organic grocery store in Luxembourg. Located at 55 rue Glesener in Luxembourg City, the store stocks a wide range of packaging-free organic, local and/or fair trade food and household products to allow customers to live a more sustainable lifestyle and reduce their waste.Late opening hours : Monday-Friday 10:00-20:00 and Saturday 10:00-17:00.
