Why did you decide to invest in OUNI?
I grew up in a family where the word “waste” was taboo, among other things because both of my parents had witnessed the Second World War at close hand. Far from greed, it was the fact of not using more than necessary that guided their lifestyle. The word “consumption” only arrived later. Moreover, the omnipresence of packaging of all kinds (plastic, but also paper, including in many organic stores) has been intolerable to me since a long time. When I heard about the creation of OUNI, I did not hesitate. And you have the pleasure of rubbing shoulders with people of all ages who think like you: it’s very inspiring!
Do you have a memorable experience from your hours spent working at the store?
During one of my first meetings, so at the beginning of OUNI, a middle-aged woman arrived with a supermarket trolley, which she filled to the brim with products. I had not yet seen that!
This made me all the more impressed, as I am personally still transitioning to a zero waste lifestyle and don’t yet find everything at OUNI, but the volume is increasing all the time. This woman is therefore an inspiration in a way!
Do you have a favourite product?
I love the tamari cashews, but there are still a lot of products I want to try.
